    Avoiding Home Business Scams

How many times have you heard about a great home business opportunity? Probably more than you care to remember.

How many of these home business opportunities ended up being a fraud? Probably more than you care to forget.

I hope that you were never the victim of any of these frauds. Unfortunately, others probably fell for these “opportunities.” The fact is that these defrauders are making money from people who are looking for a better way of life. Moreover, as long as people continue to get mixed up in this business, these defrauders are going to stick around to trick more people.

The best way to avoid a home business fraud is to research, thoroughly, each opportunity before you move forward with it. This means doing much more than simply reading a bit about it online. You may get lucky and end up with a good home business opportunity, but chances are that you will not.

Not only will you want to read what is available on the site itself, but you will also want to search for other information as well. Check with third party review sites and on message boards and forums. You just may find out that the company that you are investigating has received criticisms of being fraudulent.

You should also check with the Better Business Bureau if you are considering getting involved with a home business opportunity about which you are not sure. They will be able to tell you if they have any complaints on file. If they do, you must avoid that opportunity at all costs. But if it appears that a company is fair in promoting its business, you can continue your investigation.

Before you decide, attempt to communicate with the company that you are investigating. Can you reach them on the phone? Do they respond to your emails? If you cannot talk to a company before you start, there is not much chance that they will be around when you need them.

Try this test sooner rather than later in order to ensure that you are dealing with a reputable company. If you do reach an employee on the phone, ask them questions in order to get some feedback on the company. Anything that gives you better insight into the home business opportunity is a good question.

Just be aware that home business frauds are all over the Internet, so do your homework and do not fall prey to them. The best way to do this is through careful investigation and questioning.

    What is YOUR "Why?"

    2010 - 02.23

    What Is Your “Why?”
    Copyright © Cheryl L. Heflin

    Do you have a “Why?”

A “Why” is not a goal and it is not money; it is about who you are, your staying power, your passion, that which is important enough to you to stick with it when adversity strikes.

You must find your “Why” in order to become successful in internet marketing. If leads drop off, what will keep you working your internet marketing business the same way every day until leads begin to grow again?

To find your “Why”, answer the following questions as honestly and completely as possible:

    What gets you really excited?
How many hours do you work?
What do you love about your job?
What do you hate about your job?
What do you do with your free time?
If you had two months of vacation time and all the money you would ever need, what would you do?
Do you like the people with whom you work?
What problem scares you to death that more money could solve?
What do you absolutely hate about your life that more money could solve?
If you had all the money you need, what huge problem would go away?
If you had time to do anything you want to do, what would you do?
Other than money, for what are you looking?
What does family mean to you?
What do you want for personal growth?
What do you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
    What scares you to death?
What would it mean to you to help others change their lives?

Once you think you have your “Why,” test it by asking yourself, “will this keep me going in very tough times?” If your answer is negative, work through the questions again until you can answer affirmatively.

When you know your “Why” and your personality color blend, you can build better relationships both on and off the Internet.

10 Reasons to Work from Home

    2010 - 02.21

10 Reasons to Work from Home
    Copyright © Cheryl L. Heflin

While working outside the home, I dreamed of working from home in my own home-based business, in my pajamas! There are so many reasons I advocate working from home; here are a few:

    1. No Commute Time

How long does it take you to get to work now? And think of how expensive gasoline is! When you work from home, you’re already at work and you don’t have to purchase gas as often, so YOU are doing a big part to combat global warming.

    2. No Traffic

Tired of fighting for every inch of concrete? When you work from home, “traffic” will be much lighter, and you are not creating pollution.

    3. No Early to Bed or to Rise

You can set your own business hours when you work from home. Get up when you want to, not at the command of an alarm clock!

    4. No Uncomfortable Clothing

No more pantyhose, belts, ties, high heels. When you work from home, you can stay in your pajamas and slippers, if you want!

    5. No Ungrateful Boss

When was the last time a boss said, “Thank you!” for a job well done? Never miss out on another one again when you work for yourself at home.

    6. No Backstabbing Coworkers

You don’t have to work with anybody when you work from home! You are your best coworker and the greatest boss you’ve ever had.

    7. No Dashes Out for Lunch

Fighting in traffic for a quick bite creates indigestion. Relax, grab something from the fridge when you are ready for it, or time lunch so you can go out before or after the rush! YOU make your own hours.

    8. No Break Limitations

Break as little or as often as you need to, working from home.

    9. No Bans on TV or Radio Stations

You can watch TV or listen to your favorite radio station when you work from home. And you don’t have to listen to someone else’s noise, either.

    10. No Small Paychecks

When you work from home in a business that has multiple income streams, the paychecks are quite nice!

There are many, many good reasons to work from home in your own home-based business. Don’t be afraid to try!

Well, the Wealth Building Tycooness is putting together traffic pullers and autoresponders; I am determined to be self-employed and I want my red Lincoln MKX soon! ;) Oh, and I will explain any terms that you might not understand if you are a newbie.
